NLS Rank evaluates basketball athletes through performance, consistency, impact, competition level, decision-making, and long-term projection. Every ranking decision is made by NLS.
You can pay for exposure. You cannot pay for position.
NLS rankings, tiers, Watchlist placements, and leaderboard positions are earned through evaluation. Submitting an athlete does not guarantee placement.
What NLS Looks For
Rankings are not based on one game, one clip, one stat line, or social media attention. NLS looks at the full athlete profile.
Basketball Skill
NLS evaluates ball handling, shooting, finishing, passing, defense, rebounding, footwork, IQ, and the ability to impact the game on both ends of the floor.
Production and Impact
Stats matter, but impact matters too. We look at how an athlete affects winning, momentum, team execution, matchup pressure, and game outcomes.
Competition Level
Performance is reviewed in context. Level of competition, event setting, opponent quality, varsity role, travel ball environment, and exposure-event production all matter.
Consistency and Decision-Making
NLS values players who can repeat strong performances, make smart reads, handle pressure, play with discipline, and make winning decisions over time.
Long-Term Projection
Projection includes physical tools, growth curve, skill development, positional upside, work habits, coachability, and how an athlete may translate to the next level.
Numerical Ranking and NLS Tier Are Separate.
A numerical ranking shows leaderboard position within a specific division and graduation class. An NLS tier reflects the athlete’s evaluation level. Changing one does not automatically change the other.
NLS Tiers
Prospect, Scorer, Elite, Champion, and The One are NLS evaluation tiers. A tier is not automatically assigned during signup, public submission, or Watchlist placement.

Each status has a different meaning. Watchlist is not the same as being officially ranked, and Under Evaluation is the starting point.
Under Evaluation
This is the starting point for new athlete profiles and public submissions. The athlete is being reviewed, but has not received Watchlist status, an NLS tier, or a numerical ranking.
Watchlist
Watchlist means the athlete is being monitored. It is not a numerical ranking, it is not an NLS tier, and it does not guarantee future placement.
Officially Ranked
Officially Ranked means NLS has approved the athlete for rankings. The athlete still needs a valid published numerical rank before appearing on the public leaderboard.
How Rankings Go Public
Athletes only appear on public ranking pages when NLS has approved and published the correct ranking information.
To appear on the public leaderboard, all of this must be true:
The athlete status must be Officially Ranked.
The athlete must have a real published ranking number.
The ranking must be approved and published by NLS.
The athlete must match the selected division and graduation class.
Monthly Watchlist Updates
Watchlists normally update monthly. Emergency corrections may happen for incorrect athlete information, wrong graduation class, wrong division, duplicate profiles, eligibility issues, athlete removal requests, or serious conduct and policy concerns. Watchlist removals are not publicly announced.

NLS may offer exposure opportunities, athlete profiles, content, and evaluation visibility, but placement is never guaranteed by payment, popularity, relationships, or followers.
